#SpoCOOL: Crazy G’s Burgers, Phillys & Dogs Click it!
By Remi | Jun 02, 2009 | 3 ResponsesBad name, but I got to say… Pretty dang good burgers.
Located in the former location of the less than stellar Sourdough Place (though their bread was pretty awesome), Crazy G’s seems to be doing pretty well for itself during the lunch rush. And really, it is deserved, as both their burgers and service hold a high standard.
Just the fact that the burgers come served with high quality buns is a good sign, and extra bonus points are given for providing cheeses that aren’t just Kraft Singles. And with the burgers topped with a bunch of mushrooms, as well as a long list of other items to choose from, you really feel like you’ve eaten a decent meal as opposed to just “having a burger.” And hey, the fact that there isn’t a sign of the soggy-bun-syndrome… Not bad at all.
The service is excellent too. When we inquired about a vegetarian burger, we weren’t simply told they didn’t have one (which they don’t), but the guy behind the counter came up with a good alternative — the most stacked grilled cheese I’ve seen in eons. Good showing.
There’s a bit of a wait to get served, and the prices are possible a bit higher than other burger places, but you know what… It’s worth the wait and the price.
The name might sound like a rapper from the early 90s then, but the food sure is good.

As far as a burger place goes…

Jun 06 2009 3:00 pmWe were all excited to try the new burger place….then totally disappointed when we received soggy, greasy fries and onion rings, partially cooked beef and all around not good food. The fountain pop was good.

Aug 27 2009 11:31 pmThe burger was great! Period. But, Mr. G himself wasn’t your typical, “just-opened up for business” kinda guy. I love onions, but not cooked onions. I didn’t care that they didn’t have tarter. Their fry dip-stuff is great, but he seemed put off by too much. I watched him while we were waiting for our order, not because he was rude, but he just wasn’t pleasant at all. When no one was at the counter ordering, as that’s what he was doing, he stood off to the side watching his peeps work. No one looked at him but they seemed to be aware “the boss man’s watching! Ewwww!” That’s not healthy air for peeps to be breathing at work. I might go back. The waitresses at The Sawtooth are always polite. It’s also locally owned, not a chain. Their burgers are just as good, especially the Texas Bar-B-Q burger. Sneak in there sometime Gary. Your wife was wonderful on the phone when I called after seeing you in The Inlander. Spokane still does not have a place worth Guy Fieri visiting. Lay off the vinegar. Try some honey. I’m still pulling for you though.
