#SpoCOOL: The Barn on Trezzi Farm Click it!

IMG_0438We like pesto here at ye olde SFB, which is kind of a hard thing to love here in Spokane. For good pesto there are really only two options: one is to make it yourself, which, granted, isn’t too time consuming. But why bother when Trezzi Farm provides a tastier, and probably cheaper, alternative.

For $4 you get a 8oz container which likely will last you a while. The pesto is very flavorful, and a little goes a long way. Put some on a Petit Chat loaf with a bit of fresh mozzarella and tomatoes, and you’re set.

In fact, pick up some meatballs too, because really? How bad can they really be? (Answer: They can’t.)

The only thing missing is fresh pasta, which they don’t make because, apparently, Spokane doesn’t see why they should pay more for it. I mean, seriously? I’d kill for fresh pasta, but have yet been able to track any down for wholesale. If anyone know where they sell (good) fresh pasta in town, let us know. We’d like to know.

Anyway, I digress. Trezzi Farm is awesome, if only for the pesto, and soon they’ll have their own wine too. Go give them some love.

There used to be a little bistro way up on Washington (in an old oil-change place, with the giant garage doors and all) that sold fresh pasta, and it was awesome. But that was like 8-9 years ago, so I guess you should have been blogging then.

I used to go to that place. It was excellent. Ever since I came back to Spokane, I have been looking for a place that sells fresh pasta. We are working on OMO/Farm Girl Candy to start it up.

I have a friend who has a commercial pasta making machine (an old school Italian one). I believe her family is making pasta and selling it at a farmers market. I can inquire about if and where she is selling it.

Apparently they don’t sell fresh pasta since they don’t have a store front, but they do sell frozen fresh pasta at Williams Seafood.

anyone remember Pasta, Pastry, Etc? There were two stores that sold great fresh pasta back in the 80’s. One was located where Benidittos is now — on Lincoln. I used to have a paper route in that area. I’d hang out and angle for free brownies as I waited for the papers to get dropped off… The Spokane Chronicle — because the SR was “yesterday’s news…”
